Rainwater needs an uninterrupted route away from the property. A restriction at any point can cause overflow, pooling or repeated wetting of the building fabric.

Why it matters

Blocked rainwater systems can become building problems.

External water management is often worth checking when a property develops damp patches, staining or water ingress. Overflowing gutters, leaking joints and restricted ground drainage can repeatedly soak masonry or allow surface water to sit against the building.

Important: damp can have several causes. Clearing rainwater systems is not a universal damp cure, but restricted gutters and drainage can cause or worsen moisture problems and should be ruled out early.

Commercial wet-and-dry vacuum equipment lets us remove the material that commonly restricts rainwater systems without simply washing it further into the drainage route.

Access, height, roof design, underground condition and the type of blockage determine the method used. Deep or collapsed drainage may require separate jetting, CCTV investigation or excavation.
